Red aventurine is a type of quartz, often called Strawberry Aventurine or Strawberry Quartz (though authentic strawberry quartz is rare and very expensive). 

Red Aventurine is sometimes referred to as Strawberry Aventurine or Strawberry Quartz (though it is not true Strawberry Quartz) and is commonly associated with the heart and root chakras, as well as the astrological sign of Aries. It contains hematite and/or goethite inclusions that give it its red color. Mica inclusions give it a sparkly appearance especially in sunlight. Its hardness is 6.5.
